Roadl Dahl is one of our favourite authors in P4 and around World Book Day Newsdesk had activities looking at Roadl Dahl’s top 10 favourite characters. We took some of these characters and we did a ‘think, pair and share’ around it from the Newsdesk questions.
The characters we looked at were Miss Trunchball, Danny, The twits, Fantastic Mr Fox, The BFG and Matilda. Each of the characters posed a different question for us to think about. We had a minute to think ourselves, then discuss our ideas with our partner and finally, share with the 4 in our group. For some we had to explain why we chose those answers.
For Miss Trunchball we had to decide what we thought might be the most horrifying aspect about her. For Danny we discussed his character and then we had to think about and share our happiest memory. For Matilda we recalled the magical things she could do with her mind, then shared what super power we would choose for ourselves and why. With Fantastic Mr Fox we all had to give 3 adjectives we would use to describe him. With the twits we shared two of our favourite hobbies and the BFG was describing what your dream would look like. So many different ideas. Well done P4!
