Sharing our socks and the message of inclusion and love for those with Down Syndrome
Today in Primary 2 we proudly showed off our stripy, football, spotty, patterned, colourful and odd socks to spread the message of support for those with Down Syndrome. We began by explaining that they have a teeny tiny extra body part which makes them funny, unique and special just like Emma’s baby brother Issac in the story, “We’ll Paint the Octopus Red.” The children then listened to and joined in with the song “It’s All About You” and loved how the children were dressed up, could sing and dance and used Makaton signs and symbols. The best part of wearing our odd socks was removing our shoes all morning in the classroom, it was so much cosier to work!

All together they make this world a beautiful garden.” 🪻🌷🌸🌼🌺🌻
