When our P7 children leave us in June and arrive at their new school, it can be a daunting leap. We know that moving between schools can be a stressful experience and that learning can be disrupted as a consequence. Our priority is to get to make that transition as seamless as is possible and to give them opportunities to visit and experience their new surroundings ahead of time. We work closely with Mrs Woods and her team at St. Patrick's throughout P7 and the children work closely with the Year8 children already in the College as part of our KS2/3 Transition Project.
Today our P7 children went to visit St. Patrick's for the 1st time. They had opportunities to meet the staff, children from other P7 schools and classes and to sample some of the curriculum and resources on offer to them in Year 8. A beneficial day for all concerned. Remember to look at the published dates for all the upcoming open days and evenings for the local secondary schools. P6/P7 children all welcome!
