P5 children used their TSPC/problem solving skills today to help rescue Fred the Gummy Worm. Poor Fred’s boat had capsized, he was stranded on the top of his boat and his lifejacket was underneath!
The children had to work in groups to turn Fred’s boat upright and put on his life jacket.....however they were not allowed to use their hands to touch Fred, the lifejacket or the boat! The only materials they had were 4 paperclips. They also had to be very careful not to let Fred fall into the lake and they could not injure him!
Luckily for Fred, the P5 children came to the rescue.....they used great problem solving strategies and saved Fred just in time!
