Mrs Burns takes a rest!
What better way to revise our 18 initial sounds than asking each of our Primary 1 children to choose a sound and be the teacher! They had to first make their chosen letter from play-dough, introduce its name or the sound it makes, perhaps sing the Jolly Phonics song and recall three things beginning with that sound. Miss Heaney and Mrs.Higgins were busy in the recording studio while Mrs.Burns listened from her pillow! Watch out for the second bunch of teachers after our break next week. I'm sure Eva, Rose, Caitlin, Oisin, Darragh Byrne, John-Patrick, Eimear Chambers, Danny, Ailia, Holly and Conleth will join the substitute teachers register too!
