Money week in P1
During our task boxes this week, the children understood that money can be spent in two ways by using notes and coins or by tapping or putting a card in a machine. This led to the Numeracy activity of spending pennies in the tempting sweet shop after counting how much was in their money bags. After each purchase they were asked if they wanted to buy more or save the rest and lots of children saved pennies for a “different day.” In Literacy the pupils then made their own Disney bank cards and even added their favourite characters to make them personal. Next week we will spend money in a role-play toy shop using coins and cards and discover how to earn money by working hard in the village of Moneyville.
