Lots of Fun in P4 in September!
September has been a busy but fun month! We have been settling into our new class with our new teacher and new routines. Here are a few snapshots of what we have been getting up to.
Literacy
In Literacy we have been working on comprehension skills, revisiting the importance of capital letters and full stops, recognising common and proper nouns, composing playscripts and learning new spellings.
Numeracy
We have spent lots of time in Maths on practical learning, revisiting numbers to 100, place value and number bonds. Our digit cards and Numicon have been great for this as you can see from our photos.
Activity Based Learning
We had tons of fun in our Activity Based Learning sessions this week making telescopes, composing diary entries on the chrome books and researching underwater life on the iPads. Lots of new knowledge gained and some very interesting facts!
Art
Watercolour Art is our focus this term and a lovely start the pupils have made replicating a watercolour bird painting we had looked at. Definitely some budding artists in the making!
Music
The instruments were out and lots of beats could be heard from the P4 room last week. We explored keeping a steady beat and matching the rhythm of some songs on the whiteboard. Maybe in October we will compose our own tunes and upload them for all to see. Watch this space!
