Hurling and Camogie Equipment for P3-5
10th Mar 2021
Hurling/Camogie is one of the oldest field games in the world and is popular for at least 3000 years in Ireland with the first literary reference dating back to 1272 BC. Hurling and camogie require at a minimum the use of a sliotar (the ball), a hurley (the stick), and a helmet. Now, thanks to our wonderful partnership with Ballela GAC we are in a position where we can loan out hurls and helmets to our children.
Newcomers to the game need not buy all of these things just to try the sport out, though. We have (limited number) of helmets, hurleys, and sliotars for loan and we are keen to see girls and boys pick up a stick and learn new skills. It is a wonderfully inclusive game and the single most exciting field sport in the world. A very healthy way to while away the hours. If you would like your child to avail of this opportunity, please contact myself via email. koneill344@c2kni.net
