The excitement in Nursery was sky high yesterday. We had quite a few virtual play dates with Fair Hill over the last number of weeks, sharing our World Book Day, Green Day Concert, morning play and a virtual lunch date. But yesterday we got to meet lots of new friends in real life.
Our day started out with the children getting on to the big coach with their lunch boxes, this alone was one of the highlights of the day. We travelled along so many twisty, hilly roads to get to Fair Hill but we all made it. We were greeted by the boys and girls at the door, they showed us where to put our lunch bags and coats and then we headed up to the hall to take part in some Highland Dancing. This was so much fun. The bigger girls put on a show for us and then we got to learn some moves and put it to some funky music. The dance teacher told us some stories about the Irish Jig and showed us her costumes and dance shoes. After all this dancing we were hungry so we got snack back in the nursery, they eat crackers and have milk and water in cups just like ours. Once we were all fed we got to explore their classroom. We couldn’t believe they had toys just the same as ours. They had a home corner, play dough, dinosaurs, sand, drawing and outside they had a big play house which was great fun. Once we had finished play we had a picnic lunch together which was nice. It was long until our bus arrived and was time to head back to Annaclone.
On the way home, amongst the sleepy heads, I over heard one child say
”That was the best trip ever, I can’t wait to go back to Fair Hill next time.”
