Adjective Day in Primary 2
Our classroom and school has been alive and buzzing with the sound of words today as the children enjoyed adjective day. It was lovely to see and hear the effort of creative home-made costumes and the children explaining the meaning and power of their words. The boys and girls have learned words like lavish, tasty, hard-working and furry and will use this new vocabulary in their writing in future. We then had a shared reading session with Primary 6 and listened to the well-known story of “The Wind in the Willows.” The children met lots of modes of transport in the story and then took time to illustrate their favourite picture. We also looked at the character of Toad and discussed how kind and gentle his friends were towards him even though he was always getting himself into trouble!
Thank you to all of our parents for your support in preparing the children to have an adventurous, academic and fun day full of rich language.
