St Colman's Primary and All Saints' Nursery, Annaclone

Sports Day

4th Jun 2019

Dear Parents,
Our school Sports Day will take place on Friday 6th June at Annaclone GAC. The Nursery will also be joining us on the day for the first time!

The emphasis will be on fun activities, inclusion and participation as well as the more traditional individual races in the afternoon.  This year we will be using both the grass pitch and the 3G court to run our events. All parents/relations are invited to attend and indeed it wouldn't be the same without your support! We would ask however that for Health and Safety reasons when the competitive races are underway in the afternoon that parents stand outside the perimeter fence to watch their children participate in the sports.

Class field activities will start at 9.30am. The pupils will have a slot for a lunch break and the races will take place in the afternoon session. The weather forecast for Friday is mixed so we ask pupils to come prepared for all weather conditions: sun-cream and a sun-hat for protection from the sun and a jacket for protection from rain.

Pupils wear their sports gear. They should also bring: water, a packed lunch and inhalers (if needed).

If you wish to take your child home from the field when the sports are finished you must inform your own child’s CLASS TEACHER – do not tell any other adult apart from the CLASS TEACHER. This is the only way we can be sure that we know the whereabouts of every child.

Buses run as normal for any children needing to avail of the service. Notes to this effect went home to all oldest children in the school yesterday.

Annaclone GAC have kindly agreed to provide a limited number collapsible seats for spectators in the afternoon. Tea/Coffee and Scones will also be served upstairs in the clubrooms from 1100 for those adults in attendance.
